OUR STORY
Started with a swarm in Fort Worth. Still hands-on with every one.

HOW WE STARTED
From a few backyard hives to colonies in 4 counties
Brent started beekeeping in 2008 with a single hive adding 3 more colonies along the way but with no mentor — just persistence and a lot of trial and error. By 2015 he'd lost all 4 of his colonies and was done with beekeeping. A captured swarm in 2018, not long after moving to Fort Worth, brought him back in, and this time he did things differently: instead of buying new bees every time something went wrong, he learned to split and rebuild his own colonies, which turned out to be the foundation needed to learn “sustainable beekeeping” and is the context for his current beekeeping business.
Today, Brent manages hives across four counties, raising Texas-bred queens and running Brent's Bees & Apiary Services, LLC as a family operation — his children have all pitched in over the years, and his oldest daughter is now a very active participant, bringing seven years of hands-on experience to the business. When he's not in the bee yard, Brent teaches beekeeping basics to local clubs and schools, sharing what over eighteen years of mostly self-taught trial and error has taught him.
